Government of Canada Scholarship Opportunities
EduCanada provides information about international scholarship opportunities funded or administered through the Government of Canada. Programs can differ significantly by citizenship, academic level, destination institution, duration and purpose of study.
Importantly, many Global Affairs Canada scholarship programs for international applicants are not direct-to-student applications. In those programs, the participating Canadian post-secondary institution submits the scholarship application on behalf of the eligible international student.
For example, the 2026–2027 Study in Canada Scholarships program supports eligible international students coming to Canada for short-term study or research, with Canadian institutions submitting applications for selected candidates.
Always check the official program instructions instead of assuming you can apply directly.

Check the official scholarships, awards and financial-aid pages of every college or university you are considering. Many institutional scholarships are only advertised through the school’s own website.

Research Your Home Country
Government agencies, employers, foundations and professional organizations in your home country may provide education funding for students studying abroad.
Look Beyond Full Scholarships
Several smaller awards can sometimes make a meaningful difference to your education budget. Do not limit your search only to scholarships that promise full tuition.
Start Early
Scholarship deadlines may occur months before the academic program begins. Preparing early gives you time to collect transcripts, request references and improve your application materials.
